Welcome to our island, Taquile. Located in the heart of the Titicaca Lake, our island is 3 miles long and 1 mile wide at its widest part. Our native community is located at 15°46’ south latitude and at 69°41’ east longitude. Most of the population lives at about 3950 meters above sea level. The highest point of the island reaches 4050 meters above sea level. We are organized in 6 sectors or communities (suyos)…

ACCOMMODATION
ACCOMMODATION We have two types of accommodation; rural housing or hostel. The houses are equipped with rooms and bathrooms in a way as to accommodate tourists. The houses are made of traditional materials like rocks. The bathrooms are rather “rural” and show our reality; the fact that there is no pipe system on the island.
